Russia and Azerbaijan agree on gas and border

Russia and Azerbaijan have signed an agreement on state borders. It
was signed as a result of negotiations between Dmitry Medvedev and
Ilkham Aliyev, ITAR-TASS reports.


Another deal was signed between the Azerbaijani state company and
'Gazprom' on increasing gas supplies in 2011-2012. The Chairman of the
Board of 'Gazprom' Alexey Miller participated in an extended meeting
with Aliyev.


The sides noted that cooperation between the two countries in gas
sphere has a long history and continues developing.


'Gazprom' and SOCAR have signed an additional agreement on the
contract of purchases and sales of Azerbaijani gas, increasing the
amount of gas purchased in Azerbaijan by 2 billion cubic m annually.
In 2012 the amount will exceed 2 billion cubic m.
