Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan should enhance ties in framework of Eurasian Union - expert

Commenting on Vladimir Putin's initiative to establish a Eurasian Union, the speaker of the State Duma, Sergey Narushkin, said that a joint Eurasian Parliament should be established.

Talking to VK about the idea, Russian political analyst Vladimir Yevseyev said that Russia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan should enhance ties in the framework of the body.

According to the expert it will be useful from various points of view.

Moscow has held a summit of CIS states. Russia and Iran negotiate Caspian Sea problems

 Igor Bratchikov, head of the Russian negotiation group for the Caspian Sea, has met his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Mehdi Akhundzade in Tehran, Trend reports.The sides discussed processes in the Caspian Region, negotiations with other Caspian states and the need for a swift solution of the sea’s status and regional cooperation.Bratchikov said that he arrived in Tehran for consultations on realization of agreements and preparations for the upcoming summit of Caspian states in Russia.

Turkmenistan to concentrate on Caspian Sea

Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov will now be responsible for the Caspian policy. Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov approved the new staff of the inter-department commission for the Caspian Sea and appointed Rashid Meredov as its chairman.

Co-chairs of OSCE MG to meet in Yerevan

 Co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Robert Bradtke (USA), Jacques Faure (France), Igor Popov (Russia) will meet Armenian authorities in Yerevan on Saturday, News Armenia reports.The co-chairs will meet Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian.They also plan a visit to Azerbaijan.The latest visit of co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group was organized in March 2012.

Foreign politicians are congratulating Dmitry Medvedev on becoming Russian Prime Minister, replacing Vladimir Putin, who has become President, RIA Novosti reports.Congratulatory letters were received from Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Ukrainian Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov and Belarusian Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich.
